Donny O'Pry

Pastor

Candlestick Baptist Church has been in existence for more than 28 years. After the pandemic, the ministry needed to be revitalized, and Pastor Donny O’Pry was God’s man for the task. 

Lumberton, Texas is home to Brother Donny. He was born and raised here, graduating from Lumberton High School in 2011. After 8 years in youth ministry, the Lord opened the door for him to become the pastor of Candlestick Baptist. The church has seen steady growth since his arrival.

Brother Donny has a burden for the Lord’s work in Lumberton and all of Southeast Texas. A dedicated student of the Word, Pastor O’Pry is an excellent expository preacher. Being well read and possessing a sharp mind, he brings a clear Biblical perspective to the confusing issues of our day.

Tim Collard

Administrative Pastor

Pastor Tim and Sandy have been married over 44 years. They met in Bible college and come from very diverse backgrounds. Tim is from Marysville, Michigan where his dad was a school teacher for 40 years. Sandy is an "Army Brat" born to military parents in Germany. She spent her Elementary years in six different schools.The Collards have served four congregations in Michigan (Goodells & Houghton Lake), northern Wisconsin (Pembine), and central Illinois (Pekin). Brother Tim brings 40+ years of pastor experience to Lumberton to assist Pastor Donny O'Pry and serve at Candlestick Baptist Church.

Pastor & Sandy have two grown children. Their daughter and her family live in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Chris and Elizabeth have blessed the Collards with three grandchildren. Their son, James, and his wife Angela, have recently moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho where James is the senior pastor at Pathway Church.
